After a childhood during which her family moved between Wales, North Africa and Turkey, Teleri Williams has spent her adult life looking with fascination at different places, cultures and the diverse lives within them.

She was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, for her research into the autobiographical writing of the modernist Dorothy Richardson and her thesis entitled 'A Pilgrimage towards female self-expression: the novels of Dorothy Richardson'. She spent some years teaching literature in the University of Wales, mainly to mature students.

In her own creative writing she has found herself exploring her life and the lives of others in poetry and prose. Her poem sequence In Sight of the Sea, based on the life of her grandmother, was published by Alun Books in September 2007. In 2004 to celebrate the centenary of their father, the poet and translator Gwyn Williams, she and her sister, Lowri Gwilym, edited and wrote a biographical introduction and afterword to his Summer Journal 1951, which was published by Planet Books.

She has had articles, poems, reviews and translations published in magazines in Wales, England and the USA. At present she is working on a bilingual series of poems in English and French, focused on her home in Gabian and the area around the village - a new adventure which she is finding as challenging as it is enthralling.
